Been nearly a month since my last post and when I started school, but I'm afraid I don't have much to say. Lots of plans this year -- I've got two research projects to work on, and am planning to pick up a sport or two, probably boxing, rowing or sailing. In the meantime I'm studying trigonometry and epigenetics and having fun, though I'm still itching to move onto calculus and probably will on my own time.

The first week back our school's gym instructor said I'd gotten taller and stronger over the summer. I dunno how, seeing as I was eating nothing but burgers and cheesesteaks during my month in the U.S and must've only gone to the gym four times total, but a win is a win.

The past month's been a blur. Summer slipped away with barely a notice, leaving a downpour in its wake. There goes the sun...
Last week I put together a poem about arctic terns while procrastinating on starting my work (I don't even write poetry) and I sort of liked it for a bit -- until I reread it a day later and found only a few lines of merit. That same week I edited the wikipedia page for 'Greensleeves' to add Leonard Cohen's reworking into the 'uses' section. Here's a picture of a seagull I took last Saturday. And I heard some researchers at UWaterloo found the cannibalized remains of one of the crewmen from the Franklin expedition yesterday.

In around 12 hours I will be made to swear allegiance to King and Country, and then I will officially no longer be Chinese. That makes it sound serious, no? ça ira.
